MendolaBike - Cycling day on the Mendelpass/Passo della Mendola

21/9/2024

Experience the Mendel Pass without motorised traffic!

The road to the Mendel Pass has a long history: completed as early as 1885, the first car and bike rides took place shortly afterwards. Even back then, the winding road with its 15 hairpin bends guaranteed a breathtaking view of the south of South Tyrol and the Dolomites.

European Mobility Week, a European Commission campaign, is the world's largest sustainable mobility initiative, and takes place annually during the week of 16-22 September.
As part of this mobility week, the "Car-free cycling day up the Mendel" has been organised for several years as a visible sign of the municipalities of Eppan and Kaltern for climate protection.

On Saturday 16 September 2023 the time has come again:
For the 17th time, the road on the South Tyrolean side - from the crossing to Oberplanitzing up to the top of the pass - will be closed to motorised traffic from 9.30 am to 4 pm.
