MTB race in Madrano near Pergine (TN)

On Sunday, the second MTB Toprace of the Trentino-Alto Adige region was held in Egna, with more than 150 athletes competing in the various categories.
Our bikers had a thoroughly positive weekend. Albert Rinner did not manage to repeat his victory from the previous year, but he did achieve a good second place behind Silvano Janes. Stefan Kraner achieved a respectable 16th place in the senior category, with over 100 men at the start. Francesco Todesco managed to fight his way up to 22nd place after a botched start. Just behind him, Klaus Ebner crossed the finish line struggling with back pain. The club's internal duel with Werner Weiss (the Nak goalkeeper) and Johann Telfner was decided in the former's favour this time. Both finished in midfield.
Our road riders were at the start in Canzolino. The Bertagnolli brothers and Marcello Paternoster put in a convincing performance, keeping up perfectly at an average speed of over 41 km/h and finishing among the front cyclists.

Next Sunday, our team will compete in the GRUNDIG World Cup in Bassano del Grappa (TN), provided they manage to qualify.

On this Sunday (2 May 1993, n.d.R.) our club is organising a tourist trip. Meeting point at the old Eppan railway station at 8 am. The start is at 9.30 am. The route leads along the wine road to Roverè della Luna and then through the orchards via Klughammer back to Eppan, where interesting prizes and a drink await the participants after about 60 kilometres. We wish you good weather and good fun.
