MTB South Tyrol Cup 1994 in Issing, Pustertal Valley

Last Sunday saw the start of the first race in Issing-Issengo (Pustertal Valley) of the Mountain Bike South Tyrol Cup, which was organised for the first time this year.
The series, which consists of 5 races and a final race, which is held in Kaltern, was very well received, judging by the number of participants. No fewer than 170 athletes took part in eight different categories. Our bikers were able to hold their own in three categories and score full points by winning.
Hans Dieter Rhode, Johanna Ambach and Albert Rinner were successful in their respective categories. Klaus Ebner achieved a respectable 6th place in the senior category. Marcello Paternoster finished in midfield in the same group. Julian Inama finished his race in third place. Walter Prossliner and Martin Giovanazzi were definitely not among those who finished early in their first race on the demanding course. Thanks to the good performance of our bikers, none of the other teams were able to challenge us for overall victory in the team classification. Of course, we will now sell our skin as dearly as possible and try to extend our lead over the competition at the next race in Wiesen Pfitsch, which we should be able to do if all our athletes are fit.

A note: We were recently allowed to put up a notice board at Sanvit in Eppan. This means that we can now easily reach our members with the latest race dates and information.
