2nd edition of the ‘Dolomiti Superbike’ MTB Marathon in Niederdorf-Villabassa

Last Sunday, 14 July 1996, the Dolomiti Superbike Marathon took place for the second time in Villabassa.
And once again our top riders achieved great results over the distance of 115 kilometres with a difference in altitude of 3,000 metres. Our best rider Albert Rinner finished in an excellent 8th place, just 20 minutes behind the first-placed German Jörg Arenz. Marcello Paternoster finished among the top 50 in 49th place. Our club president Werner Weiss took 79th place. Heinrich Prossliner achieved a good 153rd place, while his brother Walter came 231st. In the Sportsmen 19-22 years category, Martin Giovanazzi took 2nd place, 295th overall. Our hobby riders also put up a great fight and all crossed the finish line safe and sound. It was again a very nice race in a marvellous mountain world, even if it was even longer and harder this year, almost everyone was satisfied with their performance.
