Italian MTB XCO Championships 1996 in Prato

After exhausting weekends and good placings in the South Tyrol Cup races, our two riders Manfred Steiner and Werner Weiss were also able to celebrate good results in Belluno and Trento. This secured their participation in the Italian Championships in Prato, which took place on 31 August 1996.
Manfred rode an excellent race in the category up to 16 years of age. He was on course for a medal before the final descent, but unfortunately Manfred crashed and finished fourth. Nevertheless, an excellent result.
Werner Weiss started in the amateur category up to the age of 29. After a good start, he was in ninth place in the first two of a total of four laps. However, his strength was not quite enough and he eventually finished 14th overall.
Our two athletes will also be racing on the coming weekends. The Bike Club Überetsch wishes them every success.
