Dynamic Bike Team Eppan - the first club champion

The new club champion 1999 is Weiss Werner.

23 participants took part in this year's club championship: a circuit in Montiggl - 5 rounds of 4 km on heavy ground; start: 24.10.99 - 10.00 a.m.
To make the race even more attractive, two separate categories started this year: Licensed and hobby riders.

On the very demanding, rain-soaked course, everyone had to do their best to get through the laps. The riders had to complete the circuit five times; not a very long race but all the faster for it; and there was a hard fight for every second. From the beginning, our top riders, including Werner Weiss, Albert Rinner, Andreas Ebner, Pichler Paul and Palma Richard were able to pull away. This quintet was followed by Telfner Johann and Giovanazzi Martin. Despite being in good shape, our hobby riders could not take up the chase. After an excellent start, Pichler Paul had to let Albert, Werner and Andreas go ahead.

Johann and Martin had a thrilling duel from the first lap onwards, and both were able to overtake Richard, who broke his chain a little later. On the penultimate lap Martin was able to break away from Johann and catch up with Pichler Paul, but he had to let him go.

At the front, Werner's calculation almost seemed to work out, only a spectacular crash faded his hopes of victory for a moment. Nevertheless, he won the race with a one-minute lead over Albert.

Zöggeler Peter proved that our hobby riders also perform well. Behind him, the Morandell twins Werner and Norbert fought a fierce battle against their colleague Seppi Giovanni. Finally, they were able to successfully shake him off in the last lap.
Unfortunately, Arthur Röggl's hopes of winning the hobby class were dashed as he was unable to keep up with the fast pace of his competitors.
The downhill specialist Planer Jürgen also had little use for the rapid descents.
Our only starter in the pupils' class, Anglani Philipp, gave his very best. He rode a great race and deserved a super prize.
