Mountain Bike Race in Gardolo: first race, first victory

There was no better way to start a season.
At the start of the mountain bike races this year, Werner Weiss was able to show off his good form to the full. In Gardolo near Trento, the starting signal was given in our region on Sunday 28 March 1999. At 10 a.m. the riders went on the track to master the 30 km long circuit. Werner kept up with the leading group from the beginning. After 90 minutes, he finished the race in first place in the amateur category. In the overall classification he finished in 5th place.
On Saturday, there will be a road race in Trento, and on Easter Monday there will be another mountain bike race (Bardolino Bike 2000) in Bardolino on Lake Garda.
