And we have him, our Dynamic Bike club champion 2011!

The venue was the Andrian Centre on Sunday 15 August at 9.30 in the morning. A group of almost 30 racing cyclists gathered in the car park there to find the fastest among them. The starting signal was given at 10 a.m. and the race finally got underway - the racers took to the road one by one at 30-second intervals, racing over Unterrain and Missian in the direction of Perdonig. There was a distance of 11.4 km and 490 metres of altitude to conquer. Along the way, there was a fierce fight, and quite a few racers pushed their pulse far beyond their medically prescribed limit! But it didn't help, it was the club race! One by one the racers crossed the finish line, and after half an hour the ranking list was finally finalised:

The winner and new Dynamic club champion 2011 is Michi Aster (27:35.71 min), followed by last year's winner Markus Götsch (28:23.81 min), and Mathias Schweiggl (29:15.27 min) in third place.

This was followed by the children's and youth races. An MTB course was set up near the finish area and the boys and girls had to complete a few laps on their mountain bikes. Here are the results of our youngsters:
Hannes Oberkalmsteiner (5:20 min) came out on top in the children's category, closely followed by Lukas Frank (5:31 min) and Gabriel Todesco (6:10 min). Markus Gummerer (6:41 min) came in 4th and Klemens Ambach (8:33 min) 5th.

Moritz Giuliani (12:36 min) won the youth race (he also took part in the adult mountain race in the morning with a very good finishing time - respect Moritz!), followed by Nina Jocher (12:41 min) and Theresa Schwarz (12:58 min). Denise Meraner and Andrea Dori did not take part in the race as they were spared the following day as they were heading to Graz (AUT) for the European Youth MTB Championships (15 to 19 August 2011).

After the races we had a good meal together: there was bratwurst, schnitzel and potato salad, plus cola, lemonade and shandy (word of honour, only shandy ...); for dessert we had a variety of delicious cakes to choose from.

With a full stomach and well-fuelled, there was then a short prize-giving ceremony for the individual winners.

Even though we had a lot of cancellations this year, we are already looking forward to next year's club race. We will come up with a few more ideas - let us surprise you ...!
