EWS - Trophy of Nations 2022

29/9 - 2/10/2022

Bluegrass Trophy Of Nations - The biggest team competition in the mountain bike world for professionals and amateurs.

The Trophy of Nations is a festival weekend that brings real team racing to mountain biking.
It is the first event of its kind in the world and instantly popular with riders. A combination of amateur and professional competition, it brings together all enduro riders from around the world to compete on the same course as the UCI rainbow jersey winners.

The Bluegrass Trophy of Nations proved a fitting end to the tenth season of the Enduro World Series, bringing together 28 nations at the most iconic of venues, Finale Ligure in Italy.
In this unique race, athletes worked together in teams of three, not for their usual teams, but for their home country. Teams were selected based on their overall EWS standings and then raced a time together to receive the iconic UCI rainbow jersey.

The race consisted of five challenging special stages held in the dense trail network of the outdoor region of Finale, and featured numerous turns and problems. With a total length of 57 kilometres and 1,650 metres of altitude (including 17km and 2,250 downhill metres), the course was very energy-sapping.
The rules stipulate that all three riders must complete the course to get a valid result, which was the undoing of some of the biggest names in the race.

For "Team Italy", Igor Biamino (Pedale Canellese), Francesco Braconi (Scuola di ciclismo Arezzo) and our top rider Daniel Cavosi competed in the under 21 category - he had been called up to the national team due to his results this year.

The 3 boys were able to play in the concert of the big nations, and in the end reached 7th place with a gap of almost 6 minutes to the victorious Team USA!
