Strong performance by "Cecko" at the youth race in Courmayeur

Day number 2 for all for mountain bike fans at the foot of Mont Blanc, thanks to the Courmayeur MTB Event.
While on Saturday the Junior, U23 and Elite categories raced on the Dolonne course, today, Sunday 28 May, the junior categories for 13 to 16 year-olds, i.e. Esordienti and Allievi, were on the programme. After Albenga (SV), Nals (BZ) and Stevenà di Caneva (PN), this was the 4th stage of this year's Youth Italia Bike Cup, which ends with the race in Pergine (TN) on 18 June.

Jakob Weger, who had planned a short holiday there with his family over Whitsun, also took part in the race.
His age group was - as in previous races - numerous and well represented. This time there were 3 laps on the schedule: the course was technical and very varied, the weather sunny and warm. Cecko started this time from the 7th row of the grid, and was able to slowly work his way forward lap after lap - he obviously enjoyed the track, which suited his technical abilities. He finished the race after 3 exhausting laps with a sprint to the finish in an excellent 15th place!
