Gran Fondo Strade Bianche

Almost 6,500 cycling enthusiasts at the conquest of the Gran Fondo Strade Bianche

This is one of the cycling classics par excellence - the Granfondo Strade Bianche in Tuscany/Italy.
While the professional cyclists decide the winner on Saturday - this year Tom Pidcock (GBR) and Demi Vollering (NED) succeeded - on the following Sunday thousands of cycling-enthusiastic amateurs wind their way along the gravel roads around Siena, the start and finish of the race.

Three members of the Dynamic Bike Team met at the start of the long-distance race: the two coaches Lorenz Psaier and Manuel Giuliani (fresh from the training camp) as well as Sebastian Bertoli, who had come specially from Switzerland. And it was Sebastian who was the first of the three to reach the finish on the "Piazza del Campo" in Siena: he covered the distance in just over four and a half hours, and placed 83rd in his age group. Lorenz and Manuel kept the same pace for most of the course, before Manuel was able to pull away slightly in the last 15 km and reached the finish in 6h13 in 244th place (Master 1 category). Lorenz arrived in Siena in 309th place in the Master 6 category, almost 7 minutes behind.
