Strong performance by Gregor Pinggera at the Mountain Bike Italy Cross Country Championship

Another weekend of national championships in mountain biking.

This time it was the UCI categories (Junior/U23/Elite), which took place on Saturday 22 July in Crespignaga di Maser (TV) in the Veneto region.
From Dynamic Bike Team Eppan it was Gregor Pinggera who, together with 58 other competitors, ventured onto the very technical course, which became very muddy and slippery due to the heavy rainfall shortly before the start.
Starting from the back of the field with bib number 45, Gregor was already able to work his way up to 29th place in the first of the 5 laps to be completed - whereby "work" is exactly the right word. Due to the changed nature of the course, the athletes had to cover large parts of the course on foot; in addition, they experienced major problems with gears and brakes. The effort was enormous for all of them, but Gregor still managed to move up a few places, finishing in a great 23rd place after 1:33 hours. Behind him, another Eppaner, Michael Volgger, who rides for the Junior Team Südtirol, came 32nd in this category.
