UCI EDR World Cup in Canazei/Fassatal-Val di Fassa

24/6/2023

Brilliant performance by Daniel Cavosi at the Enduro Open Race in the Fassa Valley

Our Enduro rider Daniel Cavosi was not impressed by his retirement last week at the UCI World Cup in Leogang (AUT).

At the Enduro Open Race of the UCI Mountain Bike World Series on Saturday 24 June in Canazei/Fassatal, the 19-year-old from Eppan once again showed his extraordinary riding skills and distanced the entire international competition. Dani took 3 of the 4 classifications and won after half an hour of riding time with a lead of almost 9 seconds over the Frenchman Mathis Fleury of the same age; a little more than half a minute behind the two, the only 18-year-old Belgian Eliot Seret came in third.

With this performance - and the World Cup points credited for it - he is now eligible to start in the upcoming World Cup races and can therefore skip the qualifying races.

Our "Enduro Oldie" Willy Stricker was also there: he had to fight in the MEN Master 45+ category with participants who were 10 years younger in some cases, and still achieved a respectable 13th place here.
