Great performance by Daniel Cavosi at the MTB Enduro World Cup Final in France

By winning the MTB Enduro Open Race in Canazei at the end of June (report here ->) our Enduro rider Daniel Cavosi from Eppan qualified for a starting place at the World Cup Final in France.

This took place last weekend from 14 - 17 September in Châtel (1,191m altitude) in the department of Haute-Savoie in the east of France near the border with Switzerland: the best enduro riders from all over the world came together here to compete one last time and crown the overall winner.
And it got down to business once again: the course consisted of 7 tests, the so-called "stages", which demanded everything from the athletes all the way to the finish. The connection between the individual stages had to be covered by the riders on their bikes. A total of 65 kilometres had to be cycled, with over 3,600 metres of depth - all in one day.

Daniel arrived early on Thursday and was able to visit the entire route on foot and then on his bike (only 1 ride allowed) over the following 2 days.
On Sunday, the time had come: he started the first stage at 9.17 am. It had rained briefly the day before, and this was particularly noticeable on the third of the 7 stages: like many other opponents, Daniel also had a hard time keeping his bike under control on the slippery forest floor and the stony passages. He lost a lot of time due to a riding mistake and fell back a few places in the classification. But in the course of the day - as the track dried up - he got along better and better, and was able to complete the remaining 4 stages in the afternoon.
Daniel reached the finish line after just over 27 minutes of riding time in a very good 35th place in the MEN U21 category.
