UCI EDR World Cup in Leogang (AUT)

15/6/2023

Unfortunately no luck for Dani Cavosi at the Enduro World Cup race in Leogang

Bad luck for Daniel Cavosi at his next World Cup appearance:
in Leogang, Austria, in the district of Zell am See (Salzburger Land), known mainly for its bike park in summer and the ski resort in winter - Saalbach Hinterglemm - the Mountain Bike World Cup races of the mountain bike disciplines Enduro, Cross Country and Downhill took place this week.

Our Enduro rider Dani qualified for the UCI Mountain Bike EDR World Cup and took part in the Enduro race in the U21 category on Thursday 15 June. Besides the reigning Italian champion Francesco Braconi, Dani was the only green-white-red enduro rider in this age group.

The course leads from the start area in the EPIC Bikepark Leogang to Saalbach Hinterglemm, where three stages have to be completed. Afterwards, the riders return to Leogang to fight for the top places in three more stages - a total length of almost 13 kilometres with over 2,000 metres of depth.

The mishap already happened in Stage 2: Dani slashed his rear tyre and did not manage to repair it in time for the start of Stage 3 (in contrast to Cross Country, the wheels may not be changed completely here!) So the World Cup adventure unfortunately ended prematurely this time.
