Sebastian Bertoli wins the Amateur Race "Marathon of Morzine" in France

From 7 to 17 September 2023, the French department of Haute-Savoie hosted the UCI MTB World Series:
In addition to the cross-country, downhill and enduro races, the Marathon World Cup is also taking place. At the same time as the elite categories, the amateurs are also at the start at the Marathon of Morzine, covering the same distance, i.e. 100 kilometres and 4,400 metres of altitude.
Among them was our marathon specialist Sebastian Bertoli, who rode at a fast pace from the beginning and was able to break away from the rest of the field with the Belgian Thomas Garnier.
On the descent to Chatel - after about half of the race - Garnier was about 20 seconds ahead of Sebastian. However, a flat tire and repair cost the Belgian time and Sebastian was able to pass him. He increased the pace and in the meantime managed to build up a lead of almost 5 minutes over Garnier.
In the last kilometres, Sebastian slowed down in order not to take any unnecessary risks and could finally be celebrated as the winner of the Marathon of Morzine after almost 5h50 riding time in Morzine.
